Fat and Fire
Every Wednesday night in January and February*
Meet at 6pm, Pearrygin Lake Sno-Park
FREE! No registration needed, just show up!
Join us and Methow Fatbike for our weekly Wednesday night fatbike ride at Pearrygin Lake. Ride with new and old friends followed by a bonfire and socializing!
Meet at the Lower Trailhead in Pearrygin Lake State Park at 6pm for a 60-90 minute ride (all abilities welcome and encouraged!). Bring good lights, warm layers, and your Sno-Park Permit. If you don't have a fatbike, you can rent one (with lights!) at Methow Cycle & Sport. After riding, we'll hang out around the fire at the trailhead. Bring yourself something to grill (propane grill provided) and a beverage to enjoy around the bonfire.

Join Methow Fatbike and Methow Cycle & Sport in Winthrop January 17-19, 2025 for the 11th Annual Methow Winter Fatbike Meetup. This is a great opportunity to connect with other fatbike enthusiasts from across the Northwest and enjoy some of the best fatbike trails anywhere.

A Sno-Park permit is required to park at any of three trailheads located within Pearrygin Lake State Park. A Discover Pass is required to park at the Lloyd Ranch trailhead.
Friday January 17th: 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Night ride from Winthrop Town Trailhead
(Methow Trails fatbike trail or ski pass required)
Meet at the Town Trailhead in Winthrop starting at 4:45pm to be ready to ride at 5pm with your bike, good lights, and dressed warm. Ride as long as you'd like and warm yourself and swap stories around the fire afterwards.
Saturday January 18th
10am:
Morning ride on the Pearrygin Lake Sno-Park trail system
(Sno-Park Pass required)
We'll gather at the lower trailhead at Pearrygin Lake State Park for the first group ride opportunity of the weekend. We'll start with a short ride over to the swim area in the East Campground to get the traditional weekend group photo. After the photo, riders can then continue to explore the Pearrygin Lake area and Lloyd Ranch and enjoy some of the best fatbiking anywhere. A warming fire will be located near the trailhead.
4pm - 7pm:
Fat and Happy Hour at Methow Cycle & Sport and fatbike Lit Crit
Gather back at Methow Cycle & Sport in Winthrop starting at 4pm for beverages, snacks, and more fat fun. There will be lights in the sky and other silliness. The evening will be full of refreshments, socializing, and making connections with others for more fatbiking on Sunday.
Sunday January 14th:
Informal ride day, location and time TBD.
(Sno-Park Pass required)
We will select a groomed snowmobile route to enjoy. Ride in smaller groups per pace and interest. Plan for a 2-3 hour ride.
Backyard Ski Day + Fatbike Demo

All 200+ km of Methow Trails are open this day for FREE cross-country skiing, fatbiking, and snowshoeing!
Methow Cycle & Sport will have FREE Fatbike Demos at the Methow Trails parking area. Come try out a fatbike, or introduce a friend to the activities that you love!

CoACHING
Joe Brown and Julie Muyllaert, co-owners of Methow Cycle & Sport, offer individual and small group coaching for mountain bike and all-road skill building. We’re also happy to lead guided rides for your club, organization, or group of cycling friends.
Joe is a certified PMBIA coach with many years of competitive cycling under his belt. Julie is a cycling advocate, and also has extensive experience as a commuter and recreational cyclist.
Private Lessons
all abilities / one-on-one or bring some friends / ages 8+
$65/hour + each additional student $30/hour
- One-on-one instruction is the quickest way to reach your riding goals
- Select specific skills that you want to master or leave it to us to plan the lesson after a quick consultation and assessment
- Two hour minimum. Recommended 3-4, depending on lesson goals
- Do you have a few friends with the same riding goals? Bring them along too so you can practice and do homework together (max 3 students)
Small Group Lesson
all ability levels / 4-7 students / 4+ hours / one & two day options
$55/hour + each additional student $25/hour
- Perfect for teams, clubs, and groups of friends who want to grow their riding together
- Have more than 7 people? No problem! We can accommodate that too with a bit more planning - just let us know what you need
- Options are virtually endless but we recommend a minimum 6 hours for 6+ students

The Methow Valley contains a dazzling array of single track mountain bike trails covering a variety of terrain. There is something here for everybody and we love to share it with you. Let us show you the way and help you make lasting memories of your visit here.
No bike? We also rent bikes.

Methow Cycle & Sport is involved in school bike programs, kid’s bike rodeos, charity rides, cycling clubs, trail development and were instrumental in helping to start the Evergreen Bike Alliance – Methow Chapter. We believe cycling is an important part of a healthy community so you will also see us teaming up with the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce, Winthrop Planning Commission, Methow Recycles, and Methow Valley Long-Term Recovery.
We hope to see you on the trails but we also look forward to working with our local organizations to help create a friendly and sturdy Methow Valley.
